Our Itinerary for the day –
we had our breakfast at Dunkin Donuts in Hongdae near the Hongkik Station before heading to our first stop for the day which is Buhkchon Hanok Village. We need to fill first our stomach before wandering the alleys of Bukchon Hanok Village. Bukchon Hanok Village is a Korean traditional village and is located between Gyeongbok Palace, Changdeok Palace and Jongmyo Shrine. This is a best place to feel a Korean traditional beauty in Seoul. We did a few minutes walk??? I think going to the place from the station. There are a lot of cute and attractive cafe’ along the way so we didn’t notice that it was indeed a long walk (which i thought it was just a few minutes walking)… we got a little lost. Anyhow, I shall let the pictures do the talking.. 🙂
We walked along the streets in Bukchon…willingly, we letting ourselves drown into the peacefulness of the surrounding. It was indeed quiet Monday morning and we did really enjoy the scenery of the place.
next stop will be Gyeonbokgung Palace…. well, we’re lost again… after an hour i think or maybe 30 minutes of walking which we still didn’t find the entrance of the palace so we decided to grab a cab and to our surprise the cab just make a u turn and dropped us on the other side of the place where we took a cab.. waaaahhh what a shame on us. It was suppose just right in-front of us! where we’re standing checking our maps, checking the road from left to right hoping that there will be a signage of the said Palace…. anyways, did still manage to reach Gyeongbokgung Palace… thank you taxi driver :P. I will let again the picture do the talking….
after a tiring but enjoyable stroll inside Gyeongbokgung Palace, 30 minutes walking again going to our next stop which is Insadong.
It’s now time for us to buy some souvenirs and we decided to buy all in Insadong as most of bloggers who went to korea suggested.
You can find a lot of store along the streets… actually I can’t tell a lot, so I will just show all the pictures we’ve took around Insadong…
we had our lunch here…. forgot the name of the restaurant…
we bought our stamps here…. actually stamps are the best souvenir you’ll gonna get in Korea… it’s a bit expensive but it’s worth it! the one we bought cost 15,000KW and the stamp pad cost 5,000KW
Now, off to Yeouido Park to see the real Cherry Blossoms…
This is my first time to see a real Cherry Blossom and waaaaahhh it was just so dang beautiful!!!
and it’s indeed more beautiful during at night….
you will really enjoy the moment strolling around the area…. they’re really indeed nice to look at and so pretty to take pictures. I just don’t why I don’t have lots of picture in here… 😦 I just got these….
next and our last stop for the day ….. Hongdae
you can find a lot of shops around Hongdae too… though they’re a bit expensive compare to Myeongdong 🙂
and if you can notice coffee shops are everywhere in Korea….
we decided to take a walk from Hongdae to our hostel thinking that it was just nearby…. but then we noticed that we are a little bit far already… so we took a cab since he cannot understand English well, we just ask him to drop as near Hongkik Station. When we reach in our hostel, we arranged first our things since our next trip will be in Busan and after that we went to Jeju… 😛
